OP, you started the thread off negatively by referring to people that bought the iPad as "drinking the i-Coolaid". People responded to your negativity with there's and you seemed to get a little offended by there negativity.

You bought a tablet other than an iPad. Good for you if you like it. But there's no need to start off in a negative light.

Personally I like the iPad because it has really good support, good apps, and is well made for what I need. No I didn't look at other tablets because I am used to iOS with my iPhone and it works really well for me. I have had problems with my iPhone and it's great to just pop into the Genius Bar and have them fix it or replace it right then and there.

Well since you guys are talking about Android, HP and Apple tablets, I thought I'd be the first to say that I got the Blackberry Playbook =) It's personal preference on what tablet you get. I have personally been a Blackberry fan boy since 2007. I'm not a games type guy and I think that's mainly what Apple is for. Can't wait for Android apps to hit the BB App World =D

The playbook is the worst of the tablets. I'll be surprised if they ever make another one. And I won't be surprised at all when they stop supporting the current one.

The ipad was useless for me when I was looking to get some new tech for teaching. I had over 3k to spend on anything I wanted. Ended up with a tricked out lenovo ultraportable tablet convertible with ssd, wireless broadband Intel core i7 and 8G of RAM. I looked at even getting a Macbook air and an iPad but what I have gives me meximum flexibility for work and for play plus I don't have to be tethered to Apple's dictatorial way of doing things. The ipad is a nice toy to have but that's all. Wouldn't mind one as a kind of kindle on steroids.

Lets just take a quick look at mobile OS and where they stand. You have iOS, Android, BlackBerry OS, Windows Phone 7 (I don't think it's on tablets yet, but it's coming) and finally WebOS.
Out of the 5, the absolute least support is for WebOS even though it beat Windows Phone 7 to the market by several years.

Simply by the virtue of it using WebOS it is inferior to all the other offerings on the market. It was hard to adjust to their gestures, but I think PlayBook did a decent job with user experience. I've only had a chance to try the WebOS briefly, but I found most of my experience with it to be rather painful.

With that being said, iPad is not the greatest thing out there. I personally think that the Galaxy Tab 10.1 makes for a better tablet computer. It's just as quick, has bigger screen and provides a better experience. I find with a tablet screen just having apps is a giant waste of space. I love seeing the android dashboard screens on a tablet sized screen. You can see your emails, weather and calendar all in one screen without having to open a single app. And it's got the second highest developer support out of all the other operating systems. Now if apple increases iPad screen resolution it will become hands down the best tablet. Most are just now starting to catch up so a move like that will put them back ahead by at least a full year. Once you've used the "Retina Display" no other portable device looks quiet the same.
