KLX 250 as a First Bike?

    Hey guys,

So I'm 6'6 and 160 lbs what are people's views on the Kawasaki KLX 250S. I hear dual sports are better for tall people...

As well do Dual sports have lower insurance rates then 250 road bikes?

    Thanks,
    Action

If I was that tall I would be looking at the DRZ 400. I think you may find a 250 really small. It will probably be around the same for insurance as well.

+1 to this. I'm 5'10", and my knees get a bit cramped on my 250. I'm actually looking to get a DRZ400SM next, and it's got a tall seat at 35". I'll barely be able to touch the ground, but you'll have no issues with your height.

How are you going to use the bike?Small dual sports are fun but I wouldn't have one as my only bike. KLX250 is too slow for the street IMO.
