Went for a ride today. It's not too bad. There's sections where there's no pavement anymore and the "speed bumps" are still there.

Viragochick, all the credit goes to "Splash" not me.
I am not as talented as "Splash"
Just did it today, for the first time. Sure is a nice road, but there's a lot of repair sections that are all gravel, and some lose gravel in some corners. As it was my first time, I wasn't pushing any corners, so I survived, but I sure don't like riding on gravel!!
Was on Southwood yesterday. It is in pretty bad shape, lots of sections of gravel, bumpy as hell too.
It really gave the suspension a workout.

I was at the District office this week, ( that is a district of Muskoka Road so don't blame Gravenhurst for this ) but it will be a couple of weeks until the contractor gets in to repair the road, however, the repair is the gravel and tar variety so it will be even worse for a month or two after that with the loose gravel until it gets washed away or pressed in.

Ripped it last night Southbound, I was pretty surpised in the shape of it 100% better then it was last year WELL... about 3/4 of at least once its repaved all the way its going to be mint. You still have to watch out for some sandy sections but all in all pretty good IF you go Southbound.
rode it mon aug 1st in perty good shape all the construction is complete with a very ****** paving material used. Train track are very bumpy as usual. There are several signs still up saying road switching from paved to gravel but its actually paved to ****** material paved. Just pick a tire track and stick with it through the turns.

Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebars to the saddle.
Faster, faster, faster, until the thrill of speed overcomes the fear of death.
Yes it is chip and tar, will be better in few weeks when the chips either get washed away or part of the tar...

Anyone have an idea on if Southwood will be better by the 20th?
I am planning a huge ride an I was really hoping for that road.

Totally agree 7/10.Maybe even an 8/10.
The only bad part was going North on the T junction, full of gravel.
Way better than last year when there was sand everywhere.
Pick your line and you will be fine.
Going midweek only saw 3 riders in the opposite direction.
Best part was from Bala heading over to the 400, was perfect.
Enjoy.
I was on Southwood yesterday. I'd say its about a 5/10. There are much better roads in Muskoka that don't look like they've been carpet bombed and then covered in sand/gravel.

was there today, take it easy if u go theres lots of sand
scarborough rides.............
Was there on Monday, and there's only 1 small section with any sand. Keep the inside tire track, and you won't encounter any debris.
Went by today. Noticed quite a bit of fine sand in about half the corners. The final 5 K or so are pretty clean though. Still has the whole chip and tar repair sections as well as all the speed bumps. 6/10
