    Brake lights not activating

    1998 Triumph Trident

Guy pulled up beside me on the way to work this morning and told me my brake lights are out. I checked and sure enough activating either front or rear breaks does not activate the lights.

The driving light is on, it just doesnt get brighter when the brakes are activated.

I have not checked anything since I am at work, just want some ideas for when I get home.

    Thanks
    J.

Probably just need a new bulb.
Unless you have LED brake light.

    Check the bulb.

Your brake light is probably a dual filament bulb which is a way of saying it's actually two lamps together within one glass bulb housing. The running light filament is still working. Odds are good that the brake light filament, which is of higher wattage and which burns much hotter, has burned out.
