hey all. I did a quick search but nothing came up from any recent postings. a friend of mine, not on gtam, is wondering if Forks is open now. i believe it was close for consturction last fall?
sorry, a mod can move it if its incorrect. though id still like to know if anyone here can tell me.
There's a sign there saying it's closed from something like 7am-6pm on weekdays...
There is also construction going on in the hairpin turn... There are 3 stop lights that alternate letting traffic pass going down the hill for a few mins, then up the hill, etc...
Forks are not so fun right now if you ask me.

I drove through there about 3-4 weeks ago. It was closed to the public, only open to residents according to the signage (which I ignored). It stated that The Forks were closed until the fall. Driving through there was a LOT of gravel and sand throughout. So if you decide to ignore the signs and ride through anyway, exercise a lot of caution.
great, thanks guys!

Ok, went for a drive there today. The road is closed to public traffic Monday-Friday from 8am-6pm. Open on weekends. However, when I reached the s curve there was a "ROAD CLOSED" sign and it was blocked off completely with pylons. I'm assuming they're resurfacing that area right now. Had to turn around and go back. Probably be open by the weekend though.
I rode the entire length last week. There is no way it'll be open this weekend. The road is completely torn apart through the switchback and is only down to one lane, then both lanes are scrapped for about 500m further up the road. I'm thinking the local residents won't be pushing for this to speed up either. It's a same too, because it's a great, scenic ride. There is no real need to push it through there either.

I rode the forks yesterday and the temporary stop lights are gone and both lanes open. Still some mud/dirt but better than a few weeks ago.
was down today, its in good shape
Just came back from the Forks today. The road is open from the shed all the way to Hwy 10. Although some parts of the road is still going through re-paving. But still, better than this: http://www.gtamotorcycle.com/vbforum...5&d=1289791271

Canada is a country that doesn't know where it is going but is determined to set a speed record getting there.
Update as of this weekend.
Incase anyone was thinking of going anwhere near Forks. It's packed. It's very slow going, and at times it is bumper to bumper traffic.
Even Mississauga Rd heading North away from Belfountain is busy, and just south of Charleston Sideroad you get alot of cars parked o nthe sides of the road, and a few of them aren't looking where they are going. Lots of people stopping in the middle of the road, and driving unsafe while they look at the Foliage.
Also the Speed bumps aren't an issue for us Bikes. They have LARGE gaps we can ride through, problem is, alot of cars don't seem to notice the bumps till they're almost ontop of them and they Slam on their brakes.
Quite the cluster ****.

It's that time of the year again. . . .
Drove the Forks today in the cage, the brine has been applied, ready for the slipping and sliding season. Rider beware.
I went through there today (Nov 6) and didn't see any speed bumps. Goldwing suspension? I was expecting to see the shock busters.
It looks like the speed bumps were removed.
