A Jevco broker that is well versed in the company's rules should be able to verify your rate in a two minute telephone conversation. It's always best to deal with a broker that understands and specializes in motorcycle insurance. It will save time, money and frustration.

Jevco has always surcharged the R1 and never surcharged the FZ1. Online quotes are infamous for inaccuracy. It's always best to pick up the telphone and call a broker that specializes in motorcycle insurance and is well versed in their respective insurer's rules and regulations. Two minutes on the phone and they should be able to confirm your rate.

Has to be asked. What about MV Agusta? No surcharge?
Can I get an F4? Please oh please can I get it? lol.
Or maybe I can wait and "save on insurance", and get the new 2012 F3 675cc.

I don't know how many times I can say it without sounding rude or redundant. The Street Triple is not on the Jevco sport bike list. Your broker is incorrect. It's best to deal with a broker that specializes in bike insurance and is well versed in their respective insurer's rules and regualations. I have personally insured many of this model with Jevco without any surcharge.

The Street Triple is not on the Jevco surcharge list. In all likelihood, the broker providing the quote is not familiar with motorcycles and is confusing the Street Triple with the Speed Triple. The names sound and look similar, even though the bikes are different.
Contact Duffy and you will probably get the CORRECT quote in the neighbourhood of $1500/season.

so the buell 1125R is not surcharged?

Thanks for posting this. So the Ducati Monster and Streetfighter are NOT on the list?
I was talking to my Jevco broker in March and was told all Ducati's are surcharged. I guess I was misinformed. *heading over to the dealership now*
Buell is not surcharged as a sport bike (which is the 400% on all coverages)
Jevco does have a trade name surcharge for Buell and a few others - 100% on DCPD portion and 45% on collision/comprehensive portion.
Your premium won't be as high as a sport bike but a little more than a non-buell.
Hope it's not too confusing

Well when qouting on john duffys site it says 1800 for fz1, 2050 for 1125RR. So I assume the extra is from the cc difference. Or from the surcharging (both bikes have 140+ horsepower)
A couple weeks ago I was curios on the insurance on a 07 kawasaki ZZR600, sport touring same as my sv, value the same and ccs are 50 less. They want 1000 more for insurance. Why is this the case? (I was qouted by my actual broker who I think doesn't have much experience but she said that jevco told her that the accident benefits premium on the kawi is more then the sv so that's why it is so much more)
I was thinking mayb horsepower as the kawi has something like 110 compaired to 80 on the sv?
