    Appleby/Rattlesnake Point full of sand

    Tried this twice in the last couple of weeks. The switchbacks are full of sand and mud, as runoff from the roadside. Tread with care...

    Same with Twiss Road. Be careful at the winding part where the campsite is.

    Just a bump. Passed by there today. Rider on a Buell down. Says he hit some sand. Lucky he had a full face as the front and visor was well scraped, or he'd be in the hospital getting face reconstruction. The rest of his gear seemed to have done its job.
