Riding Trials - new to dirt bikes

    Hello all,

A friend of mine just finished rebuilding his CR.
Can you tell me where is a good place to test/ride the bike near Toronto, West Toronto?

There are no plates on the bike. Does it require to purchase any plates to ride the trials?

Please mark the spots on google maps (the names will not help him as he is new to all this).

    Thanks

do NOT go to eagles nest if there is any moisture on the ground, it is very slick, will not help a new off road rider gain any skill or confidence... I don't even like Eagle's nest on a good day.

For Trail Riding the closest that I've seen is Ganaraska Forest. Thats an hour east of Toronto. Annual Permit is $125

Here is a map of the available dirt bike trails.

You need a green plate and insurance to ride at the Ganaraska Forest.

Thanks for the heads up. I almost missed that completely. I was really worried when you said insurance though, figured this would cost too much.

I found out insurance is like $129 bucks a year for liability and the plate is $35 without the need to renew stickers. Not bad.

Does anyone know what the sound limits are for riding on crown land? and also are spark arrestors required and if so do they have to be certified?

    Thanks

As far as I know, 95db limit is what is accepted at most tracks, assuming it is the same for trails, and you need a spark arrestor.
a "bark buster" is required for 4 strokes at some tracks as well, so call before you go!

Sales guy at Kahuna thinks Trail is less at 92db. I was looking at the db snorkel just in case.
