The same design was used in the ZX6RR and the first Gen ZX10.

They had little slip out of the showroom, but it took about 10 min of clutch stack configuration to adjust the amount of slip.
Huh, no kidding. I knew nothing about slipper clutches back then anyway.
    Thanks for that info.

Try mixing different thickness of steel plates.

you probably have 7, 2.3mm plates(this is oem config) which offer little to no slip.

try using 4, 2.3mm steels and 3, 2mm steels, this will give intermediate slip(kinda like a 05-06 GSXR slipper clutch)

if that doesn't provide enough slip, try using 2, 2.3mm steels and 5, 2mm steels,

You'll want to use the race kit clutch springs doing this(they're available from any kawi dealer)

My '83 VF750 Interceptor has a "slipper" clutch. Doesn't mean this would be my choice as a first track bike.

Just finished reading this thread. Interesting stuff.

So, do you (experienced and racer) guys think that traction control on a litre bike can only be a good thing on the track. Esp for the lesser experienced riders?

I used to ride a gsxr600 on the track and have recently upgraded to S1000RR. I feel faster and safer on the S1000RR in every situation. I have lots of seat time at the track and on the road. Traction control on the S1000RR on the track is awesome. Smooth as silk and has improved my lap times.

I bought a sv1000 as it was the best deal i could find on a track bike when i was shopping. I'm a track noobie and i don't care about going fast in the straights and you can see that when i ride.
I want to learn the lines first and then have the speed catch up to me once i've learned them properly.
Reciprocity is one person i would listen to as he has probably forgot more then i know about riding and no he didn't pay me to say it.
