    From a 600 down to a 125...

    All I can say is...

    THE 125 IS A FUN BIKE. If I had the funds...I would love to have a 600 + 125

Hwy riding does suck...being in the slow lane all the time and going up hill...but other then that, riding the 125 on the highway is do-able. I've maxed out 120 straight away fully tucked drafting behind a semi truck (not recommended) going downhill I hit close to 130

My average speed thou is 110 km on hwy.

And yes...I'll be keeping the 125 for 2 more seasons

Check with ANY Honda dealer - like the closest one to where you live (which you haven't told us).

Am I missing something here? Because if the 08/09 CBR125's are going for $1999 +taxes and fees brand new..why do people have their used ones up for $2000-$2500 on kijiji =/. I understand that they probably wont be getting that much for it..but it would seem reasonable to me to be asking ~$1800, and selling for ~$1500. An asking price of $2500 for a used bike, when it's brand new counterpart is going for $1999 is just stupid IMO.

    Re: 2010 Honda CBR125R MSRP

    thanks guys.
should i go to Honda car dealer or motor dealer?I live in Downtown.
i was going to buy a used one, but i also noticed people selling their cbr125 on kijiji.
range from 2000-2500, even though the sale is now over, how can they sell a used one like new? are they expecting even to make some money on the bike which they have ride for years?
im not lowball people, i offer 1500 to them,no matter their price is 2000 or 2500 or 2100. no reply.
so, im thinking why spend 2000 for a used one? i rather add 500 more to buy a new one and sell to people on kijiji 2 years later , at the same price. lol
    any nice dealer? thanks!

    Re: 2010 Honda CBR125R MSRP

usually the resale values for small bikes (125's, 250's) are on high demand. every year new riders try to get their hands on those small beasts... sellers know that supply < demand...
(maybe they DID see the drop in the selling price for honda,, but too lazy or didnt want to change their price?????)

like ppl said, the left overs are gone... so ppl will have to buy it from somewhere...

i'm in same shoes.... i'm looking for a nice cbr125 but so far no replies.. even when i just asked them for a simple "is the bike still there?" :/

When my girlfriend sells hers she'll probably look for $2000 depending on time of season. Hers has custom LED turn signals, frame sliders with fairings cut to fit, and an aftermarket Arrow slip on.

Yeah, mods generally won't do anything to add value to a bike, but these are all tasteful, practical mods I think many buyers would appreciate. New doesn't come with this stuff.

i'm thinking a lot of those ads on kijiji are from people who paid full price for them and are trying to keep their losses to a minimum...but the whole supply & demand theory sounds good too...as those of us who are new to the sport, we too were looking for something simple and small to start out with...just that some of us were able to take advantage of the great deal put on by honda...now i do know that ready honda still has some 08's but they're not anywhere close to the price they were a month ago...try them and see what they're willing to do...

    Re: 2010 Honda CBR125R MSRP

Nowhere will you find a bike the same price now as it was in the winter. As soon as spring hits, up goes the prices. I bought my 2009 125R in January, and a couple of weeks later the price went up. And since then it's gone up even more. It's just the way things go with summer toys.

As for people asking for 2k for their 125's, that's a decent asking price. As said before, the value of these bikes doesn't go down very quickly. There will always be beginner motorcyclists looking for a used bike and these bikes are fairly ideal for learning on.

I saw a 2009? CBR 125 at GP Bikes for 1999 with very little mileage on the odometer.

I ride a CBR 125, had it for close to 3 seasons now. Clocked over 20,000 km and I do agree I've outgrown it by now but its honestly the most fun you'll have on two wheels while still keeping your license. Sure the highway riding is a tad uncomfortable (tucked, and drafting all the time) but its quite manageable, especially with all the traffic here in Toronto.

A really good bike for new riders.
