Hi
My Name is Jenn, I am an avid car fan and adrenaline junkie, in the past I have dabbled in some auto drag racing, and I am generally interested in anything that gets the adrenaline going!
I am here because my newest endeavour is getting myself my first bike. I have done alot of research myself, and although I may get flamed have decided that the Kawasaki 250 Ninja seems to be the best fit. I am 5'3 and I have tried out the 400R but found it to be not as comfortable and whole lot more heavy...(again I am starting with almost zero experience save for knowing how to drive stick and comfortable on a 450TRX quad) as well the 400R had a price tag of over 5K more then a used 250......and I think it makes more sense to be comfortable on a bike and almost bored before upgrading to my next plus I would rather spend the addtional money on the second bike not the first.
I am here hoping to gain opinions from other riders but also hoping to find the following:
1. Someone that would be interested in riding with me...as I would love to go riding not just by myself.....
2. Someone that would be interested in checking out a couple used bikes with me..as I am not riding yet....and wouldnt know if it was good or bad.....
My location is in Toronto but I am often around Barrie and surrounding areas...and if it makes a difference I am in my mid twenties....
Hope to hear from others soon...
Jenn

Welcome.
The internet makes it pretty easy to find a bike these days. I had fun looking for mine. I bought mine from a dealer; knowing they would still be there if I had any trouble, plus a 30 day warranty (just my 2 cents).
I don't think there will be a shortage of riders to join you. Seems to me there are lots of "leg humpers" here. LOL

Hey Jenn.. I think you picked a perfect bike to start on. Much recommended! Would love to ride with you (I'm in Mississauga). Good luck and see ya in summer!
That's a pretty clever way to meet people!
Hey Jenn welcome to the forum!

The Ninja 250R is an excellent starting bike, despite what some may say. I'll admit I'm beginning to feel a bit too big for the bike now that I've sat on larger models like the V-Strom, CBR600 etc, but I still love my 250.
Definitely wise considerations, when looking at the bike's weight, fit etc. The 250 is very "flickable"/nimble, and forgiving for a new rider. I put over 15,000km on mine last year, and don't doubt I'll put another 15,000 on it if not more this year.
Just ignore the 250-and-under haters. :P

thanks all for the advice and warm welcome! I did consider the CBR 250 but I think I just happen to like the look of the Kawi a bit better.
I would offer myself as a riding partner but I'm afraid I will require some n00dz first for legal reasons
