    Average SOAR weekend costs??

Hey all, I've searched. No specific thread to SOAR weekend costs(not just race fees, but overall). I will be coming up from Buffalo,NY. Planning on doing first two rounds and all three at GBM if things work out with my vacation time. I plan on sleeping in a tiny tent or tarps over my open trailer.

What are most of you guys spending? I only plan to run Rookie cup and Open sprint novice if possible.

    $300 registration
$50 food and drink (alcohol on top of that)
$50 gas to get to/from the track and generator
$50 gas for the bike over a weekend
    $300 for tires

That's $750, but by the time things are said and done, you'll spend more than that.

Fuel prices are going up and you'll use more as you go faster, you'll use more tires as well.

I was spending $2500 for national weekends and $1500 for regional weekends when I started.

It depends very strongly on how many classes you enter, whether you do a practice day before the weekend, and how hard you and your bike are on tires. I get three weekends out of a set of tires on my little vintage bike.

    Damn guys!
Glad I race motocross. I'll spend about $200 on fuel (there and back, and including the 20litres on the bike for all day practice saturday and 4 motos sunday).
Tires, maybe change a set part way through the season.
I camp out so just whatever food I make over the fire or on the coleman.
Entry fees are maybe $80 for the weekend including my Saturday practice...
    so I'll spend like $300 a weekend.

Yeap motocross is way cheaper, i was looking into doing track days or racing. can't justify it.
Think you have to be a white collar to do that.

I will stick to my blue collar Racing and riding Steel City Riders, CMRC, and CMX

I'm moving to Borden this summer so I'll probably hit up some CMX and TVR and possibly some CMRC this year... See ya out there!

cost? possibly your marriage (if attached), or just a fat wallet every weekend...especially if you consider blowing off work for friday practice.
