Wood doesnt really scratch those wheels, its the metal/metal contact that takes the paint off

    Blah blah blah.

If he's worried about scratching his cute little wheels, put a little more design effort into the bead breaker 3000 that he's got going on there.

    tried and tested.

It did not scratch. My main concern were my tire irons, even tho I had rim protectors.

I did not end up putting the new tire back on. I lack skill, lol

come by sometime, you'll see with your own eyes how I can change tires using wood and tire irons WITHOUT scratching wheels

If scratches are a big issue.Using chunks of plastic bleach jugs under your tire irons in the last couple of inches solves the problem.Keeping everything clean is the biggest help.A dirty tire iron used with a "no-mar" will scratch the heck out of rims.

without rim savers / plastic, it will gauge the rims no matter what...the forces applied by the iron will mar the rim
