I estimate 600 kms/ $150.00 fillup (yes guys, that's what it cost to fill our full size trucks. I fill mine twice a week to the tune of 9 grand in fuel last yr)
...That's $750 in fuel probably to the Gap and back. No mention of kms, wear and tear on brakes, tires, engine/trans (when was the last time you dragged 3500 lbs around with your car for a month's worth of kms in 2 days of non-stop driving?)
Purchasing, repairing, maintaining, fueling, and insuring a truck instead of a Civic cost money all yr long, just so that it is available for trips like this. Buying, maintaining, and storing a trailer also isn't free.
I assumed everyone got that. Dunno what more to say.
    Booya's got a S-crew. Probably with a 5.4L.
    I've got a S-cab / 4.6L that's not even broken in yet.
Some people don't realize our tanks are 136L and oil changes are $80 and we barely get 10MPG all yr long, to be able to do this at will.
Last yr, I had 2 bikes on the trailer. The poor little 4.6L laboured enough for me in the mtns. It's my 'forever' vehicle and I'm not going to kill it for the hell of it.
I want my stuff inside the truck too, not in the box.

I've got the 4.6l 3valve also. The truck was broken in on a Florida trip with a 26' enclosed trailer with 5 bikes and riders lol. It had 400kms on her for that trip. The rest of what you said is bang on the money.

I'm not too concerned, I've been stuck in the back of a small sedan with my two brothers, one's 6'2" the other is 5'10", so I'm used to being squished, I'll also try not to impose on your guys space.

I don't trust the 6 sp and don't want to be stranded in Kentucky
I've got an intermittent knock in reverse which naturally never happens when I take it in.

but srsly the trip sounds awesome even if the ride there/back may be on the bike (talk about flat spots, might as well ride on an old one there and have it changed there)
