not sure if this has been mentioned yet already, but does anyone use gymnastics rings in their workout?
i'm wondering if it's worth it to pick some up...looks like there is some pretty interesting exercises

There is something really similar, I believe it's called the "TRX" workout, or T-Rex... Something like that.
Great for workouts at home in the basement or garage. We use them at work here once in a while and they're a good time, good way to change it up a bit. While you think you're just gonna work on your chest/shoulders/back, you end up using just about everything right from your hip abductors up.
I think TRX is officially owned by Goodlife or exclusive rights in Canada (Just as 'Crossfit' is now owned and licensed) but there are tons of other ideas based on the same concept. And yes they are a great workout. By dad (61yrs old) has been getting into TRX type workouts and they have helped him shet some of his bulk and get core strength back.

TRX looks like an interesting alternative to conventional resistance training, but all I ever see when I'm at the Goodlife in Guelph is a bunch of out of shape people led by an average looking instructor... I'm of the mindset that if the trainer / class teacher doesnt look phenomenal... pass

I recently moved to the West End Toronto near Dufferin/Bloor, any gyms around that are worthwhile? I'm currently with the Y and there's one near college/ossington but if there are better alternatives, throw them out. Pretty much use weight room/free weights
a 24 hr one would be a plus
