I have gotten into the habit of flashing my brake lights when I'm stopped at a light and a vehicle is approaching me from behind. It seems to get their attention and as a result, they slow down and stop further back than if we were all in traffic together when we stopped for the light.

Face it, dude was run into by someone not paying attention. And I'm sorry, but I'd love to see you people react the way you say he should have reacted, when in reality you are expecting the person behind you to stop.
