    SOAR OR RACE next year?

I'm sure this will get all controversial in no time, but I'm curious...

Who is going to be racing SOAR and who is going to be racing at RACE for 2011? Or both?

Being an avid RACE guy who is a little tired (or maybe too old? lol) of the 4 hour drive as I drive from London. Broady and I have purchased our SOAR race licenses for this season. TMP, not my favorite track (by a long shot) and the new Grand Bend track are soo close, it's a no brainer for us. Not to mention the fact that Ken runs a hell of a weekend!

We're going to be attacking the endurance series with SOAR this summer - CAN'T WAIT!!!!

Re: SOAR OR RACE next year?

SOAR for me- close enough that I can get away for enough time to make it happen (barely). Grand Bend will be tougher for me, but it's where I grew up, so it won't be too bad as we have family up there still. Any other locations are just too far away and require too large of a time committment for me.

Besides, I am very happy with the SOAR experience, even though I have just begun. I don't see a need for me to look elsewhere at anyone else's series, as I can't remember having more fun at anything...And I amjust here to have a good time, racing bikes that are too old to be competetive ( See what I did right there? ...that's right, it's the bike's fault I am slow,LOL)

Hoping to run a couple rounds of SOAR. The old R6 and it's much older rider are thinking lost era. It's only 40 minutes away for me, I'd be crazy not to before im too old.

We are planning on doing both this year and not doing the nationals. We had a great time at the last 2 Soar rounds we attended. It is to bad that the 4th race at soar is the same as the race round. The travel time is about the same for us.

The RACE endurance was 4 hrs, great event, hot as hell.. 32 degrees or so.

I'm doing both. I really enjoyed the endurance races last year.

That's the way they are down south aren't they? Long full day hauls... How long were the endurance races you and Kenny raced last year (or was it the year before) on the 675?

Re: SOAR OR RACE next year?

I'm most likely going to do the SOAR series and a few of the RACE rounds. There is a conflicting weekend, which forces a decision to be made. A decision between Shannonville (which I've done thousands of laps of) and Grand Bend (brand new track to everyone) is an easy one to make. Actually, I suspect that RACE is going to cancel their vintage classes that weekend, because it also conflicts with VRRA at Mosport, but I'd still rather try out a new track.

Yeah Brian... This new GBM road course is going to be great (well it sounds like it anyways). I'm actually surprised that we don't see any track day organizers including it on their schedules yet... I know racer 5 plans to do Thursday's before each soar round... but what about regular (Saturday/Sunday) trackdays?!?

Has anyone heard of any organizers planning to do GBM once the track opens??

DOCC has a weekend in Aug. Riders Choice has been in touch, not sure of the outcome. Turn2 is nailing down at least one (I believe they want more). The SRA is there with us. Racer5 is also running days for GBM themselves not sure about dates or numbers though. I suspect next weekend when we are all at the London show more will be reveled.
As for the conflict. Our schedule was out first. RACE chose to conflict with us and VRRA. I know that Chris and Larry both tried to talk sense into Gautier but we all know how useless that is. Wait till ASM releases their schedule and there will likely be more conflicts.
