Sounds like a helluva trip - how old is your boy?

He just turned 20. We will have to stay in Vancouver for at least a day to visit with family.
We haven't had that many long trips on 2 wheels in a while so we will be doing some long single day and multi day trips to work out the bugs.

Nice. I've got a 9 year old who finally looks comfortably supported on my latest bike. Time for some short trips to get him used to things. Good luck with your trip.

if I do upgrade I'm thinking of getting some wireless ones, I've seen a few around the $100 mark.

I'd not bother with wireless unless it's part of a comm package.
BT music is still marginal. If your current ones work stick with it - other better things to spend on like decent bags.
As there are so many of your model out there selling them later should not be an issue.
You also might find some decent stuff used with enough time.

Oh slow down to the speed limit or less when entering/exiting cities/riding the ring roads/bypass. The RCMP like to camp there and will ticket you.
