Re: Learning Curves - Questions & Answers - 2011 style

I saw on their website that they offer the M2 exit course (for full M designation), classes in Markham. Do you know where in Markham they conduct this course. Also, can a motorcycle be provided for those who don't own one yet.

Finally, at the end of the course, will there be an exam in order to gain the M license. Also, does anyone know what route they'll take from Markham?

We do. Usually meet at Shopsys on Woodbine and go from there. Go through a couple intersetions and hit the highway for an exit and then some residential and industrial and done. Not in that order.

As for bike, you should have your own. Most schools require you to have the bike and insurance in your name. I think we have a rental bike BUT not sure if we let it out for tests. Best you get used to your own bike anyways. And there is not exam. Its a road test only. Practice your shoulder checks and get used to not using neutral at lights and you should be good. The course involves an evening class like the M1x and then some riding around and then the test. Pretty easy.

    Thanks for the reply!

So there'll be a road test at the end of it all and I guess it'll work like the m1 exit course where at the end of the course and upon succesful completion of the road test, you get some paperwork to show at the ministry and from there you'll get your full M license.

As for the bike, I did purchase my own just last week (2000 Ninja 500r). Haven't started riding it yet because of the weather outside but it's just killing me to have it, but not be able to ride it.

Pretty much. Its more like a day of nice riding and then the test. More relaxed in my opinion. I enjoyed doing mine. But yes the paperwork etc is the same thing.

As for the bike... welcome to PMS... Parked Motorcycle Syndrome.

Give Don a call. We are starting back up end of March beginning of April - Weather depending - I imagine the streetproofing will start up after then also.

I read on the learning curves website that the street proofing course is free to graduates of the M1 exit course. Does it matter when they graduated?

All of our past alumni are welcome, you can even bring a friend, but they have to pay for it, $50 was the going rate last year, plus a waiver for you both to fill out.

As Cat stated, email or call the office and we'll schedule one when we have enough interested parties.

Learning Curves does not rent out bikes. Just got that info so sharing with everyone else

We do refer people to talk to a local Harley Dealer or gtaexotics about bike rentals if you need one. However most schools and ministry locations require the bike to be in your name.

We all have an itch to scratch when it comes april/may and want to get out as soon as possible. Just be really careful on cold tires, they can be extremely slippery, especially with the left over sand/salt on the roads from the winter. Congrats on the purchase!
don't be a road crayon, wear your gear, the road doesn't care how "cool" you think you look when it's busy cheese grading your skin.

Completed the course this weekend.....in the rain. The instructors are great. Bikes are easy to ride and it really does take you from zero to hero in a few days. I recommend it for all new riders, esp. Sport bike riders. Thanks again. I had a great time.
