12 year old Canadian road racer Charly Vu currently stands a very good chance of securing his first ever championship as he has just once again emerged victorious in race 9 of the Novice F4 Class aboard his Honda NSR50R.

Still full of with confidence from his previous SOAR race, of which 12 Year old Vu rode tremendously to 3rd position, Vu arrived at Circleville Raceway to compete at the familiar track with his Honda NSR50R, a machine he has become quite acquainted with throughout the season. The practice session commenced as scheduled at 10:30 AM giving the young racer roughly about an hour to warm up for his race later on in the day. After an initial 10 minute session it was determined that in order for Vu to lower his lap times he would need to improve his braking technique. Young Vu’s corner entry speed was required to increase if he were to cement his chances at another victory. Concentrating on his corner entry while on the brakes, Vu was able to reduce his lap times by 2 seconds to an impressive 1:00.100.

Charly Vu’s starting position would put in right in the middle of the grid for F4 race. As the green flag dropped Vu had a less then ideal launch as he found himself near the back of the pack while his fellow competitors all dove into turn 1. Once again Vu has his work cut out for him, one by one the Toronto born Canadian racer started to work his way up through the field making full use of his favourable power to weight ratio in the back straight and his ability to outbrake almost anyone. By lap 8 of the 10 lap race, Vu had closed the gap to the race leader. After a 2 lap battle with the leading rider Vu was able to outbrake him the end of the back straight. Shortly after Vu crossed the finish line with a well deserving victory.

“This was a very good weekend, I was able to pull off a victory even though its obvious that I need to work on my starts” said Vu “ I would like to thank my older brother David and the O’Shell’s for helping me all day”
