    The Police - Roxanne

This song came out almost 10 years before I was born.

Some of the old stuff is actually pretty neat....

""Roxanne" is a hit song by the rock band The Police, first released in 1978 as a single and on their album Outlandos d'Amour." - WIKI

Saw them perform it live at Exhibition Stadium.

Did you listen to any other Police Tunes?

    Beds To Big Without You
    Cant Stand Loosing You
    Driven to Tears
    Be My Girl
    Murder By Numbers

Their later stuff got pretty schmaltzy.

Truly. And Coupland went on to compose soundtracks. I think Rumblefish was his first.

Then he shows up in Oysterhead with Les Claypool and Trey Anastasio.

Best drinking song ever. Get however many people are at the party, split the room in half, one side drinks to Roxanne and the other side drinks to red light. Ahhhhh, memories....

BIG BIG TUNE!! Love The Police (the more poppy stuff, not the older punk/ska stuff) and Roxanne is one of my favorites. Its one of those songs that nobody can cover just right, I dont even think Gordon can sing it the same way he did that first time..lol

Agreed. Hes singing in key however, and in the original octave without falsetto. His voice is likely either just changed, or on the way.

Either way, the kids pretty good .

anybody else go to the "Police picnic" in Oakville in '78? They played a small park off Dundas down by 16 mile creek.

Can't imagine why they never got another permit to hold that event.......

Good list! "Running on Empty" playing in the background as I type ... thanks for the reminder about that one. "Doctor My Eyes" is on the suggestions page when you open that - that's another good one. There is a lot of good music from the 1970's and early 1980's. I don't listen to today's stuff ...
