Ya it's normal, even if you arn't hard on your tires 13,000km is more than enough to square off sport tires. I replaced my OEM dunlops at just under 6000 and they were already starting to square off.

How many miles did you get on your stock oem tires? Ive put on 13,000km and the tires are getting a flat spot in the middle, and its getting really scary when i try to lean into turns. Is this normal?

13,000 kms on any sportbike tire is fantastic-suck it up and buy new tires. You did very well on the last set.

WOW.. youre lucky to get that much mileage... I barely get 5K. As omnivore said suck it up and welcome to sport of two-wheels.
Four wheels move the BODY. Two wheels move the SUL.
I got 17,000 but there was no tread left in the middle. It still rode fine in the dry but if it rained it was damn scary.

A track day or two on a set of your street tires fixes the problem. I have a set of Pilot Power 2CT's with 7000km that are just starting to square off now. My last set lasted 12,000km to total loss of center tread but I'm changing the current set early because I got a minty fresh set of Sportmax Q2's ready to try for next year.

12K on Pirelli Super Corsa. Replaced with Pirelli Angel ST. I'm told I got excellent mileage out of the Super Corsa. The Angel is supposed to have a longer tread life.
I've got just under 14k on my 2010 Ninja 250R's stock tires. They started to square off visibly around 12k, but I suspect I'll also get another 2-3k out of them before they really need to be replaced -- which I plan on doing at the beginning of next season.
Debated doing so this season, but I don't want to be riding around on slippery new tires when the roads are colder/risk of snow around.
i dont have much time for a ride in the countryside, or a day at the track. i only find that time during summer weekends. right now its a commuter bike. it goes straight down gardiner, off on spadina, and up to harbord. the highlight of the ride is taking a corkscrew on ramp, and then spadina circle(have yet to drop a knee in it, but i will continue to try). otherwise it is a strait, straight ride (and mostly at 40km/h with the construction and accidents factored in).

10k on my stock IRC's that came on my 250r, and they are flat in the middle. it's pretty unnerving to ride, so I'm thinking about putting it down for the winter and getting some new tires for spring.
just hit the ramps, best local way to solve the problem
