Truxtor's look awesome. I doubt insurance will be cheap though.

I'm really falling in love with this style of motorcycle. I really wish I had the time to build one.

What are my options on getting a modern day cafe racer but build with the vintage look? I don't like what Guzzi offers and the Triumphs aren't too shabby.

Well, I've decided once again, (I keep flipping and flopping on the issue...), that I'll let my black cb750f go for the right price..
Its definately cheaper than a Guzzi or a new Triumph in price and insurance...
If you are interested, let me know...

The problem with the non sporty Duke's and Triumph's is that even though they are far less powerful than most SS. They are considered "exotic" here and insurance pretty much *** rapes you anyways because of that. It's like you're paying to ride a more unique bike.

I'm paying more insurance for my Monster than most people pay for 600 SS even at 2/3 the horsepower.

I wouldn't really consider a naked as a cafe racer but they seem to appeal to some of the same audience. I would be happy riding the TnT, Speed Triple or a Truxtor but they are different bikes.

Liek I said..Cheap to insure, cheap to build (If you are into that), Parts are cheap, cheap to maintain and cheaper to buy one thats all done... Cheaper than any Duc, Triumph, Norton..etc..etc...

    What the heck is that?

I've always had a soft spot for big bore Kz's that have been cafe'd & sporterized. They just look sick to me with an updated USD front end & clip ons. This one from the Spring Bling looked really tasty to me.

Kwak H1 2-stroke I put up in a different th'd, ton of work into that one and it came out nice.

Now mabe I slap that extra chrome tank on my other cb450!!... Now thats an idea!!..

I'm paying $800/yr on an 01 ducati monster 900ie with primmum. While $800 is not exactly super cheap, it's not too bad.

How long have you been riding? I'm paying close to triple that for an S2R 800.

although I've been riding for many years, I bought this bike 5 years ago after 10 years of not owning a bike. If even a year goes by without insurance you are considered a 'new rider' again. The first year I paid $1800 and it went down each year till the $800 it's been for the last two year.

If insurance is the main issue then Kawi ZZR600 is NOT on the death list but I think ONLY at Kingsway Insurance. It's officially classed as 'sport touring' but is same as 2002 ZX6R.
