Im getting my M1/M2 and will be getting a bike for next summer. So right to the point Im 6'5 and not sure what bike to get that I will be comfortable or ride-able. Im really in to GSXr600, and was told to go with an 03. Anyone with experience or knowledge of what bike to get for a tall man.
(again im into the sports bike and would like to stay there)
Well I'm 6'4" and ride an 09 Gixxer 600. I haven't had a sinle complaint with my ride position, actually I think it's a nicer fit than my first SRAD. I would highly suggest you look for something between an 06-10 if you're a bigger guy. Probably the most comfortable and rider friendly bike I've ever ridden.

The bike show in December will give you the opportunity to sit on everything there and ask lots of questions.
Well,almost everything.
Some bikes will have signs on them saying "No sitting"go ask the sales person if you may sit on them.
That is if you have not been to most/all showrooms.
Not sure that i would recommend a powerful sportsbike to start on.
If you remember what will hurt you on a bike.
There is a nut on the bike that can do major damage to either you or the bike.
That nut is the one that sits on the seat.

DL650 and DL1000's are pretty tall. 33" seat height (roughly).

The most common problem with motorcycles is the nut that connects the handlebars to the saddle.
They are, and most of the super motards work well for tall people as well, aside from being just stupidly fun to ride. I would have suggested one of those. But the OP was pretty determined to be on a SS for some reason.Originally Posted by Scudzo_2

The DL650 would be perfect for a new "taller" rider. A friend of mine has one and needed to buy the lowering kit, just so he could touch the ground with both feet. The DL650 also has a great motor, with all the power you should ever need. My friend, who has ridden for 30+ years, has toured all over the east coast and down to "The Dragon" on his.
