Nothing in the news reports support that he was being chased.
No trees were harmed in the making of this message, though a number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.

If you look closely, you can make out a motorcycle coming in the opposite direction.

    THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

BEAVERCREEK, Ohio - State police in Ohio say an out-of-control car “disintegrated” when it went airborne and smashed into a highway overpass pillar.

The 19-year-old driver was in critical condition.

A police cruiser’s dashboard camera captured Monday morning’s stunning crash on Interstate 675 near Dayton. The video shows a 1985 Pontiac Firebird passing by in the median, striking a culvert and then flying through the air. The car slams into the overpass, turning into a shower of parts.

The State Highway Patrol says driver Brennan Eden was ejected onto a highway shoulder. Troopers say he was alert and conscious afterward.

Investigators are trying to determine how fast the car was going.

seems it didn't go according to plan. The plan was to land on top of the bridge (hence the brake lights) and get away from the cops. better luck next time kid. Sometimes it ain't the same in real life as it is on tv.

Too bad, it wasn't a Toyota, and he could have said the accelerator was stuck.

The 19-year-old driver miraculously survived the crash in Montgomery County, Ohio, after being thrown from the car as it broke into three pieces.

The driver, Brennan Eden, of Mason, Ohio, was arrested and released by police about an hour before the crash.

Police said he was arrested for drugs offences after officers found him in his car in a car park with an unopened can of alcohol, a trace of marijuana and drug paraphernalia at around 6.13am.

Eden was released around thirty minutes later. Officers said they did not believe he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of his arrest.
He then crashed his car at around 7.15am. He was later admitted to hospital and was said to be in critical condition on Tuesday.

An off duty police officer captured the crash on his car camera. The video shows a 1985 Pontiac Firebird passing the police car, striking a culvert on the ground and then being launched into the air.

The car then slams into the overpass before breaking up. The State Highway Patrol said the driver was ejected onto a highway shoulder and that he was alert and conscious after the crash.

Investigators are trying to determine how fast the car was going but it is believed it was travelling faster
