how do you SM riders deal with flats?

with a tubed tire and all. especially with sharp metal objects. a friend of mine had to be towed to ted's for a patch. cost $60!!! but when another friend plugged a tubeless it's like $10.

The reason it was more cause the tire had to be removed from the wheel for the patch and new tube. You plug a tubeless from the outside so no need to remove the wheel...making it much cheaper. If your real good you can carry a tube with you and do it on the road if needed.

    make your spoke wheel tubeless,

    its a pretty simple process.

I did it on my racebikes about 3 years ago and haven't had an issue since.

don't need to lift it...its a dirtbike...lay it on it's side....lol & turn the gas off first Your kinda beat either way, tubeless or tubed if it goes flat you need a repair job. Doubt anyone really carries a tire plug with them unless road tripping it or something. What bike are you looking to get?

plastics are cheap, and if your riding it off road as well they are bound to get marked up

you can lay that bike down without touching any plastics it's all peg and bar. And have you ridden a 250x?...gutless machine. I rode one and it felt like a big plastic toy. Do you have the fz6 now? There is a guy in the US making turbos kits for the wr, couple youtube vids out there of him ripping it down the street, now that would be a fun bike

What did you use to do this? I remember reading about some guys doing this before but I forget how they did it. I think I might try it the next tire change.

    Thanks

I sealed each spoke hole with silicone, let it dry, then moved the spoke adjuster.

    then used this process.

the silicone was to allow for spoke adjustment without breaking the inner seal.
