Newer Ninja's don't have four way hazard lights?

So I just bought a 2006 Kawi EX500R... And surprise (to me anyway), during my inspection, I found out it doesn't actually have a four way hazard button. We called the dealer where the guy bought the bike and were told that newer models don't have the button. Okay...

I did some searching and apparently I can use parts from older model Ninjas to rig this up in 15 min. Personally, I don't care right now as the bike is safetied but I'm going to take my M2 exit exam in a few weeks and I thought it's required that you do an emergency road side stop using four ways.

Anyone else been in this situation?

The examiner asked me if my bike had hazard lights. If it does, you need to use them, otherwise no.
I enjoy listening to the radio at a reasonable volume from nine to eleven.

When I took mine, The instructor looked at the group, saw no gigantic bikes, and just assumed no one had them. If you dont have them, it doesnt matter, you can still perform the road side stop.

ps. i didnt know ninja's even had four way flashers. is it comon for sport bikes to have them?

I took my exit on my 2002 ex500 without it being a issue.

I could be wrong but I think there is a "park" option on the ignition switch which keeps all the lights on.
    Silent but deadly!!!

My understanding is that the Ninja 500R only had hazard lights on the UK version that went by the name GPZ500R. It was never available on the North American version.

Moreover, there are few bike manufacturers that have the hazard light option on their bikes. I personally think it should have been mandatory on all of them.

Few bikes have 4-way hazards. They add complexity and cost, and are not essential to riding.

If you're wanting them, you can do it yourself. 4 Ways.

Thanks all. I suppose I was just expecting hazards because my last Kawi bike had them. I agree that they should be mandatory.

    My buddy's got a 2000 EX500 and it definitely doesn't have 4 ways.
Like others say, very few bikes have 'em.

Personally, I don't find them necessary but I do agree that they are a handy option.
