You have to look at the bright side. Better a moose than an irritated bear.
So it turns out I know someone close to Wayne. Things don't look so good right now. Once his condition stabilizes they are going to fly him down to Toronto.

This man is very lucky to have survived the impact. Hitting a moose is like hitting a brick wall. I live in NL right now and have had many moose walk out in front of me while on the bike. They're HUGE, and kind of dense. It's a scary experience, and it happens very quickly.
I'd say this rider has some sort of guardian angel looking out for him. I wish him all the best and a full recovery.
The fact that he lived is amazing. I've seen quite a few heavy trucks that have had run in's with moose. Lets just say they would have been better hitting a car.

my grandmother hit a moose on the road between St John's and Placentia in her Vauxhaull. It fully flattened her car and she was in the hospital for a month
can't imagine surviving a motorcycle - moose encounter
