It is worth one visit every few years or so. If you like crowds and ride a cruiser you will enjoy it. I usually point the bike north and go to Muskoka or Haiburton for some empty twisty roads on a Friday the 13th

Just wondering if it's worth the trip... I've never been, and am giving it some mild consideration. The thing is, the only 'bikers' that I've know who have attended are not very cool. (D-bags, Wankers & Wannabe's)
And I'm sure that Johnny Law will be all over the place.
Anyone have any input?

I only want to say that "wankers" and "Johnny Law" made me crack up loudly, in the middle of the crowded MTO Drivetest centre, where I am hating everyone right now, except for the other Ninja that's here. Why are other people's assflesh touching me? Let's all sit on my lap!!! Jesus!!!
Kudos, sir.

It's worth going when there is unexpected decent weather during winter - like last November.
But in summer, with probably 10 times more people there ... No thanks.
if you have'nt been there................Do It
then YOU will know
but I 'm not going....my head has been fried in the heat.....my mind has images of ugly fat chicks with sun burnt leather skin..........oh and the naked man......OH GOD what pain
I ride hard & fast on street and track.....get the right advice @ Riders Choice .......I dive deep with The Dive Academy in Oakville.....come dive with us
I grew up around the corner from "Thong Man". He still lives in the same house.
Here's a tidbit from "The Spec":
For many of the 120-or-so people who braved the cold and light flurries to run into the 2 C water, this was an annual New Year's tradition.
In fact, this year was Paul Nurmi's 63rd frigid dip and his 10th time doing it at Van Wagner's Beach. The 66-year-old Hamilton native, who is also known as the Thong Man, said he started doing it as a three-year-old with his father.
"It's very exhilarating and I know ... I'm going to make it through one more year definitely because I just feel so alive," Nurmi said, decked out in a long muskrat-and-wolf fur coat and top hat.
The veteran "polar bear" said he switched things up a little this year by wearing a red thong -- as opposed to his usual preference for black. In total, Nurmi said, he has 236 thongs. "My motto in life is: I cover everybody's *** but my own."
Go at least once. I went 2 years ago and it was a blast. Custom bikes, food, drinks, music and biker chicks. What a combo.
Can't we settle this over a pint?
I've gone a few times....had fun each trip.
It's good to check out at least once in your life....lots of bikes, yes lots of cruiser's etc.....but there are some nice non-cruiser bikes that go.

Don't go to Dover as a 'ride' ride. I agree with the suggestion of heading North... Also don't go if crowds are unpleasant to you.
Do go if you like unusual sights. Maybe it's a few cool bikes you'll see - I don't mean cruisers/choppers, unless you're into that. Maybe it's the sight of a little town completely 'carpeted' with bikes - don't see that everyday in Canada. Or maybe it'll be one of the 'biker chicks' that someone mentioned.
Do it at least once... it's local bike culture.
Agreed.
Gotta go at least once.
Went to the last November event. It was cold but still an amazing sight. I can't imagine what this next even will be like.
True its mostly cruisers and Harleys, but still plenty of sportbikes to be found.

What feels better than banking a motorcycle over into a corner?
I only go in the bad weather. Wouldn't waste a beautiful day there. Last November the day turned out to be warm and sunny. Bummer.
