Thread: ROUTE to Pennsylvania?

    Re: ROUTE to Pennsylvania?

The best stretch I remember doing was Route 6 heading East from Mansfield, West on the 414 and North on 15. Surprisingly for an interstate, I thought 15 was pretty amazing as the road is carved right on the edge of the mountains, one of the more scenic rides I've done for sure.

    I-15 is in Utah/Nevada/California.
I enjoy listening to the radio at a reasonable volume from nine to eleven.

It is route 15 in PA.

I just finished putting together the route going in all of your routes and recommendations and getting it all together. It's a total of 1350KM back and forth for this ride..

US-15 it is, soon to become I-99 I believe. They've really changed that. I actually liked the old US-15, just before Williamsport better, very twisty. Only did it in the cage, but, great fun, would be better on two wheels.

    Hope the trip was fun!

Anybody going down to PA on friday? Im heading down to Hershey PA then to NYC returning on Sunday.

Anything below Hyw 17 are good roads, I will be trying Route 6 this time. and exploring more of Delaware water gap area

Couple of years ago I just kept on doing the oposite of what my GPS says and it brought me to some interesting areas- untill i found myself in gravel roads and nearly out of gas.

I 2nd El Zilcho on US 219. I rode that the week before last from Buffalo down through Ellicotville (nice ski town during the winter), alongside the Alleghany State park and National Forest down to I-80 and then beyond other roads. US-219 is a very nice ride.

Do not attempt to get a motel in Salamanca. You'll get gouged and then some. Go a few miles south and get a room in Bedford, PA.

Last time I took Hwy 5 east in Buffalo, then Hwy 62 south. It was a nice scenic ride. Worth checking out if you're looking for different routes down to PA.

If you want fast take 219 from buffalo but if you like scenery and some turns try 240 then 242 to get to the west side of the Park.
