    Lean angles

Realistically speaking, on a modern track/race bike with proper track/race tires, how far can the bike be leaned without loosing it?
Is it possible to come close to this?:

Before I installed rearsets on my bike I would use the pegs scrapping as the indicator that I was leaned to the max. Now with higher pegs I feel that my tires (pirelli diablo slicks) might let go before I touch any hard part... There is not 1mm of "chicken strip" left on the tires but that may not mean that I cannot go a little further...

    Opinions? comments?

I've dragged my elbow in race conditions at a few tracks, first time was at Mt.Tremblant in 2004.

I didn't really know what the hell was going on, I thought my leathers were loose.

Yes, just about any sport or SS bike with good tires, dry and clean pavement, will go down until parts start scraping before losing it. I'm surprised you even had to ask, thought it was a given..
Of course if you lay on it too hard and soon coming out it will break out on you, but that too is just physics. So just keep the body parts off the pavement and avoid leaves, gravel and other debris and ignore your pansy senses that are giving you the false impression it's sliding out on you.

You say that like he's cheating!

I suppose everyone saw the gyroscope(?) cam shots from Laguna Seca Sunday? Scared the crap out of me, positive camber or not.

I never knew Lorenzo was a fan of Tim Judge

Though I have a sinking suspicion only one of them successfully landed the trick...

With proper suspension setup and tires, it's you as the rider and hard parts on the bike that limit lean angle.

I know a few people who can drag case covers.

Something i've noticed with the kids who hang off a lot is that they'll open their grip on the inside grip so they can move their shoulders farther off the bike. I'm not very good at this.
