Don't mind the search nazi...there's always one.

I use the swirl my hand above my head, kinda like a little circle. Not too sure what others do...my old R6 I would tap the highbeams on but my HID's take a bit too warm up on the Kawi.

EDIT: ZimZima found a good thread about it!

4th : Flashing headlights ? may some regulator issue with that

Maybe on cars.. but not on bikes... With headlight modulators and loose bumpy headlights it's hard sometimes to tell if you are flashing your headlights or there's something wrong with the bike. Just use the "tap the helmet" method.

I say, use the gun salute to tell the rider that the laser is pointed at him!

Anybody using the search function on this site or telling you to use the search function is dumber than the person accused of not searching in the first place.

Also I would love to see a search string that produces a decent result. No use of words "tap", "point", "touch" or "head" allowed.

    Re: Signal - Cops Ahead

on the bike i figured the twirl over the head was the most understandable. to me it kinda emulated a cruiser with the cherries on. in the car i flash my lights.

i think giving the palm down "slow down" motion might be misunderstood as "your riding faster than i would ride and i dont like that, so ride at my speed" kinda deal... like a parent telling their kid to be careful. i know personally i try to just stick with the flow of traffic and not turn all the cars into a personal slalom course and see how fast i can weave between them, though i see plenty of bikes do this and think geeze... take a log off the fire guy.

Nah, the slow down signal is never a "your going to fast", Its more to warn of something unexpected up ahead that you probably want to slow down for, such as police doing radar, or some truck spilt gravel/dirt all in a corner.

speaking gravel/dirt all over the road, for those that ride on lakeshore near jameson where the construction is, they've gone ahead and left gravel all over the intersection between lakeshore and BC drive.

    heads up!!

I wear a beenie when in the city... If someone on a grey cruiser is screaming at you from the oncoming lane, and you're not sure wtf he just said, yes, it was "piggy piggy oink oink", slow down.
