Long weekend traffic doesn't suit our preferred riding style!
Have you ever crashed?They're cheap Fox Motocross armour for under 30 bucks.
I wear them under my riding pants (jeans or textile), or in this case, over them when I don't want to damage the pants. I trust hard plastic armour more than I trust those foam knee inserts you get with riding pants. They fit under any pants easily.
They make a really loud scraping sound as they rub over the road since they are hard plastic and they last a while! Cheaper than pucks!

Ya, parking on the side of those cliffs can prove hazardous to your health.
I just got back from there. 2nd of 3 days and after all day riding Cherohala, got bit by the friendly neighborhood dragon. Sheesh. My bad for over braking while coming in too fast on a tight one, but was able to dump her into the soft brushy shoulder. Lucky it was Monday evening with no oncoming. A colleague helped me stand the bike up and I bump started it and rode the rest of the way back to the Gap. Next morning I took a gel Advil to ease the tender ribs and rode the Skyway again.
I wonder if killboy will notice photos showing my northbound with well scuffed left side and a southbound run with a nice right side. HAHAHA!
If you're ever back at the tree, you'll find my windscreen there with a baby dragon sized bight out of it. HAHAHA! Guess it's time for some new plastics. Been eyeballing the Repsol reproduction gear.
