    Homebrew Bike Lift

Thought I'd share a quick little project I whipped up today after work. Went up to Rona and grabbed a little lumber and hardware. Soon enough I had my bike up off the ground.

Got the basic design from here: http://www.nightrider.com/biketech/bikelift.htm

I wasn't able to find a 4"x8" block, so I stacked two 4x4's and used a counter-sunk carriage bolt on the far end. The bar handle is drilled through both pieces.

This setup is probably not suitable for a serious tear-down, but I just got my bike a month ago, and this will do the trick to get the oil changed, etc.

It is surprisingly stable, with one wheel still on the ground it forms a solid tripod.

    Cheers,
    Lee
