401 Westbound Express lane at Vic Park

Just a cautionary note for those travelling 401 W/B in the express lanes at or near Vic Park.

Due to the heat we've had, the 401 has heaved up .. Ministry should be aware of it by now.
Hitting it at 120 would send you into a nice speed wobble ... or worse.

Cars were hitting it, and you cringed to see how they were going to end up ..

Sorry forgot to add , it starts in the fast lane and goes to the middle lane.

i hate that i hit it this morning the worst is all the way to the left lane i only had one hand on the bars it scared the crap out of me my hands were welded to the bars after that ... the city definetly should go and fix that before someone ends up gettin hurt..... is there a prone nr where u can call up n tell them???

I had asked the OPP to report it directly to the MTO .. as there was an 4 car accident just before it this afternoon.

Eastbound collectors just after the Dvp i think.Hit it last friday and knocked a few teeth loose.Checked my rims for damage after i got off at Vic Park.

The westbound one in the express 1 st lane from the left just west of Vic/ Park has been there for a while. Unless it just got worse recently.

I still don't understand why the MTO doesnt just bring in a small asphalt grinder and smooth it out. It would take only 20 mins...

I've hit that bump numerous times in my car , I can only imagine how bad it would be on my bike.

That heave is just stupid.. (in the far left lane) never seen one so bad, they have since shaved it down. This morning it was gone, but I hit it Monday and Tuesday in the car and thought for sure I was going to have a bent or cracked rim...

They need to get out and shave the rest down... there are alot, not as bad, but that one was the extreme.

yes they did shaved it i didnt see it this mornin either but there are a lot more all along 401

Anyways, MTO came along and removed most of the heave already ..

They obviously know where they are. They put warning signs up in some ares. "Bump Ahead" Of course when you are doing the normal speed on the 401 the bump ahead sign is useless...

Ever since the MTO stopped doing their own maintenance on the 401 and contracted it out to Miller Paving. The maitainence has been getting worse over the years, and they only repair areas after numerous complaints.

Glad to hear
