I'd love to ride my bike to the range, but I don't think a rifle case strapped to my back would go un-noticed - LOL! Imagine stopping for a coffee or a bite to eat! I remember picking up my rifle at the post office in an un-marked package and the busy-body lady behind me says "It looks like a gun!". I was mortified! One of these days I'm going to have to figure out a way to transport covertly.
You should have told the old bag to mind her own F'n business. There's no law against mailing a non-restricted firearm. There's also no law against transporting a non-restricted firearm. Of course, its best to keep it in a gun bag/case so as to not scare anybody. I have never secured a rifle (in a case) to the back of my BMW K1200, but I plan on it when I go to HAHA from Hamilton
