Similar stuff, maybe the Appleby is a bit bumpier .... take it easy the first time around and you will be fine

I think it's harder. The roads at the Forks are also cleaner and more open.

This corner was a surprise to me on my first encounter. Just riding along one early fall Sunday morning on my former bike (FJ600)when suddenly it appeared. Due to the damp and cold condiions I was already in a higher gear and the sudden incline made my have to drop a gear or 2 to avoid stalling out and to drive it through the corner. Once you know it is there it is not too bad, just look out for on coming traffic and be in the correct gear for it.

Harder, tighter, narrower and darker. And that's what she said.

I agree, it is a very crazy turn, I was once mid way through the corner going up in my cage and then a guy on a cruiser started coming down the hill, i checked my mirrors and saw nobody behind me so i pulled as far off to the right as i could and stopped to give him room, it looked like the corner caught him off gaurd

No, you can't see it on street view. It is on Appleby, north of Derry

Yikes...glad you're ok! I did the first part of that turn going up in third when I heard my bike chugging...I now keep it in first. Both ways.

Was it here, just north of Derry?
