First of all, how are the black flies?
The girlfriend and I are heading up that way to relax and explore the area. Anyone know of good hotels in the area? Expensive or inexpensive doesn't really matter - we are open to whatever, but likely not staying at any hotel during the day - just a place to sleep and wash up. A view of a lake or the bike would be nice, but not mandatory.
We might even stay at a different place from Saturday night to Sunday night. We will probably go running so even places close to trails would be great. Any good places for renting a kayak or canoe for a leisurely day on the water?
On a related note - how's the 518 and the other usual roads up there? I want to show her some of nicer roads in that area, but nothing with too much sand or popo.
Thanks!

I was outside very little in Huntsville last weekend and I have ~60 blackfly bites. I have stayed in a few of the motels on the downtown strip. All were equally meh, nothing great or horrendous about any place I stayed.
Have fun.
