These days the only time that I'll do a few swervies is after I've ridden on a dirt parking area, or along the dirt edge of a road. I'm just making sure to scrub off anything that might cause a traction issue once I'm using a portion of the tire that hasn't contacted the road since it could have picked up debris.

I see your point but swerving a bit like this means you might be progressively scurbing off more and more of the tire. Let's say half the contact patch is the dirty part, than another half, etc. as you progressively swerve more. I guess taking turns at progressively faster speeds and higher lean angles would accomplish the same thing (and you won't be able to lean all that much anyways swerving in your own lane) but we're impatient. I do this when breaking in brand new tires too.
