Great pictures!
I've seen a ghetto job done with a gel mousepad, but you make it look pretty easy.
Did the covering foam come with your kit?

Bought a kit off ebay from seller "knoplace"
My 2006 GSXR 1000
My bonyass is not heavy enough to really sink into the gel, still might do some tweaking, but here is the basic install for anyone who feels they want to try it.
Pulled staples and removed stock cover
Traced the outline of the gel pad
Using a coarse body grinding disc on my angle grinder, I carefully carved out a bed for the gel pad
Using #77 aerosol contact cement from 3M, I glued in the gel pad and then the memory foam
Filled in some holes where my grinding strayed a little
then top it off with the smoothing foam before slipping the cover back on
I used very short screws to re-attach the cover but an air stapler would probably work too

The kit was complete, Gel pad, pink memory foam and 2 ft. X2 ft. smoothing foam.
I have been short on free time, so I really blasted through this install, I could have and probably should of, took more time to make the cut out cleaner.
Kit was about $80 to my door, got it within a week.
