    78 in /lbs = 6.5 ft/lbs.

    that is very very little torque.

    PS: We have 2 of these mastercraft 3/8 drive in pound torque wrenches at work, they don't work. They will work 40% of the time. Also, their click/breaking sound is very hard to feel. You have to be ultra sensitive and have the wrench at a 90* deg angle.

    Easy way to tell is, use a low torque and see if the wrench clicks...use something like a axle nut.

    Yeah, we were very careful the 2nd time around, and made sure to test it before.

    But it still doesn't explain how we snapped the bolt well before the point we reached the 2nd time around. As in, we weren't even at 30 in-lbs when it snapped.

    use a smaller range torque wrench....most torque wrenches are designed to be accurate at higher torque readings. light torque wrenches are rare to find...
