what is the ideal ratio for water-wetter/distilled water mix?

I am gonna try to flush my coolant this weekend and I am just wondering

    1. is it too early to do so? what if the temp is below 0 in the morning?
    2. what should the ratio be for the water-wetter/distilled water mix?
    3. is it an easy job to DIY? bike is a R6

    Thanks

read the instructions on the bottle.

the EXACT information is listed there.

its a fairly simple 15-20 min job if you know what end of a wrench is which.

I have been told by some to just use pure water-wetter; some have told me to use a 50-50 mix. the bottle calls for about 30-70 mix. So yeah I am confused.

    are there different size bottles/concentrations?

the little one at CT calls for 4 caps of water wetter per L of water

The bottle doesn't state 30-70 mix. RTFB!!
It's something like 2 or 3 cap fulls for the entire system. One bottle will last a long time.

Geez man, didn't we just go through this???

As Reciprocity said ... read the instructions with the product. Who knows better how to use it the manufacturer of the product or someone you've heard something from?
Water Wetter a an additive for water, it is not engine coolant and should not be mixed as if it is. It costs roughly $13 for about 1/2 a litre and a bottle with do many, many bike cooling systems.

Potentially yes if your bike is left outdoors

Re: what is the ideal ratio for water-wetter/distilled water mix?

From RedLine Water Wetter Spec Sheet

    FREEZING POINT DEPRESSION
Red Line WaterWetter® does not significantly reduce
the freezing point of water. If the vehicle will see
freezing temperatures, an antifreeze must be used.
Water expands approximately 9% upon freezing
which can cause severe engine damage. Even in
summertime, the use of air-conditioning can blow
freezing air through the heater and cause freezing of
the heater core unless approximately 20% antifreeze
    is used.

And some added info for those that ask why do we have to use water wetter instead of regular coolant on track, again from the spec sheet

    SLIPPERINESS OF COOLANTS
Red Line WaterWetter® does not alter the frictional
property of tire rubber and water on a pavement surface.
Water and water with Waterwetter® reduce the friction
relative to dry pavement about 50%, but it is much
less than the reduction in friction caused by ethylene
glycol and even more slippery is propylene glycol.
(there is supposed to be a chart in there but having trouble uploading)

In a nutshell it is no more slippey than plain water on pavement, unlike many other coolant additives that are a disaster to clean up.

Ideal mix ratio is 4 bottle caps per quart of water (use dionised/ distilled water).

Re: what is the ideal ratio for water-wetter/distilled water mix?

Just did it on the weekend...
bought a 4L of distilled water, dumped out about half+minor amount extra, dumped in 8 caps, shakey shakey... dump it in the bike.
I believe the ratio is 4 caps per quart, which is 946ml's. So far my bike has not yet grenaded and is staying below 100 degrees.

I was going to post the same thing. How does that even make SENSE to anyone? It's like the guy who treated his engine with slick 50, then drained the oil to save weight!

I am imagining someone thinking "Water can't keep your engine cool, what the hell is water going to do? You need some crazy chemicals in there, obviously!!! Duh!!" and then assuming this "Water Wetter" is some kind of regular anti-freeze coolant.. ?? Not sure, I work on the phone talking to stupid people all day. I have been trying to map out the logical thought patterns for years now.

    Sure.

Mix the Water Wetter, according to the instructions on the bottle, in a bucket with some water then dump it on your bike.

It doesnt't have to be exact. A little more or less water wetter wont hurt ( 4 capsules or 8 capsules per job) as long as its not over done its gonna be fine.
