'01 R6 won't start

Hey,

I was wondering if someone can help me with my problem as I have no ideal. I have a '01 R6 that has a new battery (just bought it) and had it winterized this past winter like I always do.

After putting the new battery in I gave it a start and heard a pop from the muffler. Never experienced that and was afraid to start it again. Any suggestions or ideas? Thanks.

Its a carbed bike, maybe the carb are alil gummed up, i had my 00 r6, just charged the battery and started up right away.
make sure your choke is opened up. listen for the fuel pump to kick on too
but don't over flood the motor.
cause then its a bit*h to get it going again

it was just a backfire, old fuel will do that.

it should start if you keep trying.

Yah hopefully its just backfire and nothing more. I'll try it again later when I get home from work and see what happens.
