    M2 to M

    this'll be my third season on the road, and by june ill hopefully have my full M.
    is it possible to heckle the insurence companies to lower my rates bc ill be getting the full license? Im currently with jevco

    Depends on which insurer you're with. If you post that up, Avi or one of the other insurance experts might be able to give you a better answer.

    I think they (insurance experts) have posted up a few times stating that there is usually no change in $$ moving from M2 -> M.

    Jevco has never rated you based upon your license class. Jevco rates based on experience, and for experience they only have two classes. Driving record 0 - Licensed less than one year. Driving record "Other" - Licensed more than one year accident free.

    This is true, at least for all of the companies that I have seen. Most companies don't care about G2/G or M2/M, but rather how long you have been licensed.
    I'm an Actuarial Analyst for a Major Canadian Insurance Company. I analyse claims patterns to determine overall rate changes, as well as relative premium differences by various risk characteristics (eg. age, experience, claims, convictions, usage, etc.)

    Unless it's private, please post insurance-related questions in the forum rather than sending me a PM.

    I asked my agent (SF) about this thing and she told me that it doesn't matter to them.
    I enjoy listening to the radio at a reasonable volume from nine to eleven.

    State Farm is a special case -- they only care about when you got your G1/G2 . . . they could care less about when you got your M1/M2/M.
