Rosy Toes? Ted charges 60/hr
|
does anybody know where I can get some parts installed without paying $100 an hour. I've got a fender eliminator and flush mount lights so it should be pretty simple for somebody who knows what they're doing.
Myself I'm ............. mechanically challenged!
any suggestions?

Also need chisel.
soaked and upset
You could do what I did.
Spend about half of your life learning about mechanical devices and how they operate, then spend between $12,000 and $50,000 on tools, serve an apprenticeship for 4 years....
We won't mention the hundreds, no thousands of hours at the racetrack... FOR FREE... actually not free, those hours cost too... time IS money.
$100/hr sounds like a deal to me!
Yes mechanics are special people that deserve to be paid well, but give him a break its flush mounts and an eliminator not an engine rebuild...Thats a good do it yourself project, that most likely will not require your $50,000 in tools and years of experience
ShavedApe Id offer to help you out for much less then $100 per /hr but Im a little far from Newmarket

I got a saw i can lend you guys for free to help the installation
post some pics, we can probably walk you thru it
I'll help you for 2 tall boys an hour!
I think that might workout to $6 an hour....cheaper than minimum wage!
Google is your friend. Look for forum that catters to your type of bike.
Both jobs are easy to do your self. My completely inept and horribly mechanically uninclined man even managed to help when I did both our bikes.
There are some thing's better left unsaid, but you can bet your sweet a** I'm going to say them anyway.
just rip your left right fairings off for the flush mount turn signals
then take your seat off, and take off the screws for your tail fairing
its pretty easy from there on...
you will probably have to splice into the turn signal and brake wires and drop a little solder onto the connection bits...
you can do it yourself man. believe in yourself and budget a weekend to do it!
its going to be crappy out this wkend anyway.
don't think its that hard....
its a matter of... if you have the gutz to take the thing apart.....
remember where all the screws go and where all the hinges are.... swap the old blinkers with new ones...... the wires are probably color coded.....
reverse the order in which you take them off....
you don't need really good memory for that.... everything will fall into place once you take it apart.....
for flushmounts just youtube it... lots of guides on how to install 'em
I'll help you.
It's really not that hard like everyone else said here.
You can PM me and come by my place to work on it on the weekend.
Do it yourself, and you will start to learn how things work.
It all starts with doing little things, then you build confidence and before you know it, you won't need to go into the shop for anything that doesn't require special tools... And even then it's usually cheaper to buy the special tool and do it yourself than to have the shop do it.
can i come and bring my hammer? it's new and shiny and i like it and want to use it. can i please come?
