    Thumbs up Etobicoke Riders 4.0

The 2010 season is starting, so it's time for a new thread for those of us living and/or meeting in E-dot. I am hoping to be more active in organizing and participating in rides this time around. A couple of business trips combined with getting married abroad kept my mileage way down last season.
For those of you who don't know, we usually meet at the BMO parking lot, right on the North-East corner of Park Lawn and Lakeshore. Here's a Google Maps link http://maps.google.ca/maps?f=q&sourc...,+Ontario&z=16
The address is actually 2194 Lakeshore BLVD W. There's an Esso across the street (on the SE corner), but I wouldn't recommend going there unless you're runnin' on fumes as the staff hasn't proven itself to be very bike-friendly.
We can expect to organize all sorts of rides from just grabbing a bite (like Tuesday night Burrito Boyz runs), to more spirited runs up north, to beginner-friendly rides (as a way of giving back to the community).
Let's be safe and have a blast out there!

I'll start off with the callout for the first meet of the season.. Let's make it 7:30pm Tuesday March 16th and off to Burrito Boyz. While the rider deal won't officially start until April 6th, we'll have some nice weather and I'm getting hungry just thinkin' about dem burritos If you have an M1 or any concerns about the potential pace, make sure to pm me.

Yes. That one's the most convenient for our needs, especially when more riders meet up. The one on Longbranch can't accomodate even an average turnout once the season gets going and is far less convenient for our use.

I recently moved to Etobicoke (Hwy 427/Burnamthorpe) so I'm hoping to meet up with you guys soon! Unfortunately, my bike is still in storage and I'm hoping to pick her up sometime this week (weather pending) so I can grab her before Tuesday - I'll see ya there; otherwise, next time .

7:30 pm ish according to the last thread. Considering the weather, I don't mind meeting up earlier if you all agree.

Oiy, I know. Retrieval of my bike will most likely have to wait until the weekend - so next week, I'm in! Have a good one guys.

I might be in on it but it's too early to tell.. Got some clients in town and even now I'm missing out on riding time because I have to clean up the sty before they come over for dinner.

    Hey guys,

I literally live down the street from the meeting place, so I'll be sure to make it out once my bikes out of storage at the end of the month.

Riding for 2 days and looks like the bike is going to either Ted or Ken already . "Usual" GS500 high rpm idle. DAMN.

I will be riding over to Burrito Boyz for late breakfast today. Gonna be at BMO at 1:30pm. If I'm not, the 19yrold carburated bike couldn't fire up at 3 degrees and 70% humidity. The actual meet is at Burrito Boyz (Stavebank location) 2pm.

Ok, since there don't seem to be any takers, I'll just ride straight to BB around 1:30ish.. Should make it in by 2 (depending on how long it takes to get the Fizzer fired up).

    Re: Etobicoke Riders 4.0

Wow, it's cold outside. Got out on Saturday morning around 10:30-11, the temp was around 8-9 degrees. Got back by 1pm, the temps were hovering around 5-6pm.

1). Figured out that it does take a long time to warm up my carburated air-cooled GS500F. (and only when it's hot I should adjust the idle rpm...).

2). Even with just a little slot open on the helmet, the tip of my nose froze. Applied anti-fog spray to the visor, will see if it will help.

3). The tips of my fingers really froze. I have Joe Rocket GPX 2.0 gloves.. my hands get hot and sweaty in them in the warm weather, and now this in the cold!!! argh

4). But overall, tons of fun, considering it was my 3rd ride ever.
