appropriate beginner bike

+1 on spyug's post.

The course gave me the confidence to buy a bigger bike than I had planned to... I was going for a GS or GSF500, but after I took the course.. gained all sorts of confidence, and got a perfect score on my M2 test; I ended up getting an SV650

F that.. get the triumph. the bonneville or the scrambler. both pretty sweet and arent that big at all!

don't worry about dropping it.. just be careful and take your time learing how to ride it property, don't do anthing you aren't comfortable with and don't push it too hard.

I'm kind of with this guy. That bike has 67HP! And weighs about 450 lbs (which isn't bad for a cruiserish/standard bike. That's less power than an SV650! I think power and weight wise it's perfectly ok for a beginner. Sure, when he drops it it will be more pricy to fix but hey, you get to ride a cool bike instead of some Virago 250 thrash can. But that's just MHO.
