    +1 on spyug's post.

    The course gave me the confidence to buy a bigger bike than I had planned to... I was going for a GS or GSF500, but after I took the course.. gained all sorts of confidence, and got a perfect score on my M2 test; I ended up getting an SV650

    I'm kind of with this guy. That bike has 67HP! And weighs about 450 lbs (which isn't bad for a cruiserish/standard bike. That's less power than an SV650! I think power and weight wise it's perfectly ok for a beginner. Sure, when he drops it it will be more pricy to fix but hey, you get to ride a cool bike instead of some Virago 250 thrash can. But that's just MHO.
