The M50 , though styled like a power cruiser , produces about the same power as the ACE 750 . The 'zook may have lower gearing for a little quicker acceleration , but the ACE gives effortless highway cruising , relatively speaking . As many have stated on this forum over the years , the reliability of the Shadow is legendary .

    is it more powerful how?
Well it pushes about 5 or so more horsepower then the Shadow, and its also shaft driven and fuel injected. I promise you it has NO problem sticking at 120kph on the highway. I've taken mine up to 160kph at some point, and it CAN go to 200kph if you push it. The Shadow even with wide open throttle can only do about 140kph last time I tried lol

i am guessing they meant 50ci boulevard adri. i would love to see it hit the 200km/h mark. i think that would be an awful stretch for one of those bikes. i have ridden a number of 750 shadows and there is no problem going well past 140 km/h. i dont think 200 is likely but certainly 160.

Pinkster, you need to figure out what you want, a sportsbike or a cruiser?
They are both completly different from each other.
    Have you ridden either before?
By the way the Buell Blast is a lousy bike to ride, a friend of mine bought one and sold it a month later, she hated it.

She found it uncomfortable to ride for more than an hour because of the riding position, and she said there was an unusual underlying vibration in the handlebars that caused fatigue in her upper arms and shoulders.
She was not happy with the bike at all.
She ended up getting a 650 Suzuki Intruder cruiser and is happy with it now.
This was last year and thats what I remember her telling me.

I do not know or remember the year.
Perhaps you are right that not all Buell Blasts are created equally.
You may be happy with one, all I know is that she wasn't.

I have a 2007 Shadow Spirit C2. Love the bike. I finally got a proper seat because the stock seat is very poor. I bought the Mustang seat with backrest. The bike looks fantastic and unique (blue C2). I get compliments on the bike all the time.

Its very reliable, shaft drive and decent on gas. 12L for 280 kms? Granted I ride the bike hard. Actually, I really do pound on the bike and it has never missed a beat. Bought it brand new and honda was giving 1800 in rebates. They are giving 2000 in rebates right now on new 2008 bikes obviously in stock still, and 1200 on 2009.

I'm in Oshawa. You are welcome to come by and sit on it. (in the winter of course) hahaah

the honda is a nice bike, really well balanced n felt pretty good for me (just sitting on it).

I got an idea about who you might be Pinkster n Mike now has a 07 shadow c2 750, he was quoted the other day $560 for insurance from jevco i think. statefarm was high for him too for some reason on the same bike

Actually I'm switching to Jevco because state farm changed the way they quote now and I can get the JPM for $50/month and the 125 for $40/month.

Re: Vstar 1100 Vs Shadow 750

State Farm was too high on the cruiser. Cruiser riders are at a higher accident benefits risk than (believe it or not) sport bike riders.

Why? The cruiser market generally get back into biking 20 years after getting their license and buy a $20,000 new bike without taking a refresher course OR are brand new riders WITHOUT a course and these 40 year olds are crashing them and have an enormous amount of accident benefits (outside standard $400 week income replacement) insurance has to pay out.

Try this...change accident benefits from $400 a week to $1000 a week on a $5000 sport bike and then a cruiser. Watch what happens to the premium.

    :O

Saying that Jevco was my best rate with the cruiser.

and then they hyper-price the 21 year old with a clean record who can actually see without bifocals... great

(not that my record is clean anymore, but still! )

As far as the buell blast goes, I don't have any personal experience with them, but I did find the following review helpful.

    http://www.bestbeginnermotorcycles.c...l-blast-review

I found the lack of a tach. alone would probably put me off. As well as the clunky transmission and vibrations.
