Insurance will heavily influence your bike choice, unfortunately. Any bike under 500ccs will be a good beginner bike. Keep an open mind and not limit yourself to just the CBR125R and the Ninjette. There are other bikes out there in the 250 and 500cc classes, so try a standard. A KLR 650 would also be a good bike for you. Buy used and then you don't need collision insurance, so insurance is cheaper. Used bikes are also cheaper.
If you can afford the insurance for the 250 than go for that one. Especially being such a big guy the 125 will be y on you and you might be on of the slowest vehicle on the road..
You will be bored of the 125 in a week or so after you know how to ride..
The 250 will have a great re-sale value and a lot more value to it and it looks a lot better. Definitely go for that.
