Nice! I'm gonna upgrade the rear shock on my 02 with a 636 shock come spring time!
Was it necessary to cut the tank bracket?

I went to adjust the chain after the shock swap and realized it needed replacement. Sprockets still looked good however and decided to purchase an OEM chain someone here offered for a reasonable price.
Tried to follow this nice howto
http://www.canyonchasers.net/shop/ge...chain-rplc.php
Ground down rivet heads and tried to pop it out with a punch and hammer. But SOB wouldn't budge! I'm prolly not as manly as the canyonchaser guys. Dremel to the rescue
Pop out the front sprocket cover to remove the chain and this thing is just CAKED with guk. The pics don't do it justice.
Quick wash and bike feels lighter
Flipped the chain over and realized outer links were rusted Mental note, buy grunge brush cuz the paint brush was not reaching the backside.
Here's my new Bling. (Crap it's a complete link)
Finally decide to buy chain breaker tool. Lots of people here recommended this site:

For $22 you can't go wrong! Placed order Wed morning and it arrived Thur @noon. I'm surprised how solid it is actually:
After grounding the heads the pins came off easy. Kept the o-rings and link as spares

Guy I bought chain from generously included clip-style master link
Also bought chain press from mikesxs. Can't stress enough how good their prices are, $5! Quality is good and got it the next day.

Press master link onto chain
Thanks to frekeyguy and djltoronto. They recommend safest way to install clip-style link is to safety wire and silicone.
Got wire from my daughters doll packaging. They actually wire the doll to the box

front OEM pads were worn. Replaced it with EBC HH. Also decided to swap out rubber hoses with steel lines (Speigler smoke w/ red tips). Went with the Motul brake fluid.
